The Patient Implant Card

The Patient Implant Card (PIC) informs patients about implantable products they have received.

Handing over a PIC to patients is a requirement in the European Union according to the Medical Device Regulation.

The PIC is filled out by the healthcare professional and handed over to the patient

The PIC contains name of the patient, name and address of the health care provider, date of treatment, material used, name and address of manufacturer and the Data Matrix Code.

The PIC entails an URL under which patients can find more information provided by the manufacturer.

Please follow the instructions in the following video.
